Heather Kasunick — illustrator

Our friend Heather Kasunick drew nearly half the illustrations in UNBORED. (Mister Reusch drew the rest.) Heather teaches visual arts in a public school: West Springfield High. Her students call her “Ms. K” or “Ms. Kasunick,” but she has many other nicknames, too. Her friends call her “Hbomb,” “Bomb,” “HK,” and “H.”
Heather lives in Northampton, Mass., with her husband (Jason, an environmental scientist) and their rescue dog (Olga). She says: “Our home and life in Western Mass is wonderfully ‘unbored’ in spirit. We read, we make things (I like to make clothes while Jason is in the kitchen cooking or pickling), we play outside a lot, we take naps with our dog by the wood stove, we make our own laundry detergent, and we have friends and family over.”
Here are a couple of examples of Heather’s work in UNBORED.

FUN FACT: Heather and Mister Reusch and UNBORED designer and art director Tony Leone attended Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) together.
Heather’s artwork has been included in shows at The Fitchburg Art Museum (MA), the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center (VT), MPG Contemporary Gallery (Boston, MA), The Sarah Doyle Gallery (Brown University, Providence, RI), Wunderarts (Amherst, MA), The Katonah Museum of Art (NY) and many other local art spaces.
